How do you choose when to use PEMF therapy with your animals and pets?
When to use Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy with you loving pet.
Pulsed electro-magnetic field therapy has been around for a long time. Many new advances in research by Health Sciences prove the most effective way to deliver targeted PEMF therapy. By emitting a burst of micro current electricity, a field is created which evenly penetrates both soft and hard body tissue around the target area. This electromagnetic field causes a chemical cascade, which activates the well-known Nitric Oxide cycle. Nitric Oxide is a key molecule in healing for humans and animals. The compound is released when we exercise, and when we are injured, for the body to naturally repair itself.
The PEMF 8000 increases Nitric Oxide production to help speed healing of soft and hard tissues- that includes skin, tendons, ligaments, bones and organs. The specific ratio of frequency to burst width used by the PEMF8000 has been found by our scientists to be the most effective at delivering the amount of current that is similar to what is already used by the body. More is not always better, and too much Nitric Oxide production can actually slow healing. When choosing a PEMF device, it is good to know that more power is not correlated with faster healing.
In general, PEMF can be used to speed healing, reduce inflammation, and lower pain levels. For any kind of orthopedic injury or surgery, the PEMF 8000 is a great tool to use in the recovery stage. The field penetrates clothing, fur and casts to reach all the tissue in the target area.
The added benefit of using PEMF is that most times pain medications can be greatly reduced or stopped altogether- especially important for dogs who can be seriously injured by pain killers, and cats, who are even less tolerant of pain medication, and can have kidney failure even from small doses.
Any illness which is caused by inflammation may be successfully treated with the PEMF 8000. We have seen numerous cases of Animals with arthritis getting their quality of life back, running, playing, and jumping, after not having felt well for years. We have also seen internal inflammatory problems such as pancreatitis and cystitis resolve in 24 hours.
It is not known how PEMF therapy acts on nerve tissue, but multiple cases of degenerative nerve conditions have shown to improve or resolve with the use of the PEMF 8000 twice a day over the course of a few months. In many cases improvement is immediate.
PEMF therapy can be used in both acute and chronic conditions.
There are no side effects, and no potential drug interactions or interactions with implants such as hip replacements. Whether using on a bruise, sprain, tear, or chronic condition such as arthritis, or my elopathys and neuropathies, PEMF therapy can be used as a primary treatment or adjunct therapy. For chronic conditions such as arthritis, it often takes a week or two for results to show. For many animals it replaces pain medication as a long-term treatment.
How to decide if PEMF is the right choice? There are many therapies on the market. PEMF can be used as a primary therapy, in some cases removing the need for surgery. In others it is best as an adjunct to surgical intervention, physical therapy and alternative modalities, or pharmaceutical pain management. If you are looking for a veterinarian who uses the PEMF 8000 or would like to suggest the “Loop” to your vet, please contact us for more information.
